蔡维屏博士，英国伦敦大学皇家霍洛威学院（Royal Holloway,University of London）历史系高级讲师（Senior Lecturer）。2008年春季学期任教于剑桥大学东亚学系和牛津大学东方学系。同年起执教于英国伦敦大学皇家霍洛威学院历史系。致力于研究十九世纪到二十世纪上半叶中国全球化和本土化的过程。研究方向为文化交流和在世界背景下中国现代性机构的形成。目前的研究课题包括中国海关总税务司，中国邮政服务，中国现代制图和中国新闻等。主要著作有Reading Shenbao: Nationalism, Consumerism, and Individuality in China 1919-37 (2009)（《申报》解读：民族主义，消费主义与个性）。'Breaking the ice: the establishment of overland winter postal routes in the late Qing China,' (Journal of Modern Asian Studies, 47:06, 2013).（“打破坚冰：晚清中国设立陆路冬季邮路。（现代亚洲研究，47:06，2013年））。出版了《交通、邮政与近代中国社会变动》 （Transportation, Postal Service and Social Change in Modern China）、《我们的生活，我们的记忆，我们的战争：英国对二战的记忆与反思》 （Our lives, our memories, our war: Britain’s World War II recollections and reflections）、《大清邮政通库伦和外蒙古邮政路线之源起 》（The Establishment of the Great Qing Imperial Post Office in Kulun, and the Origin of the Postal Routes in Outer Mongolia）等专著。
蔡维屏教授于2016年8月在中心从事访问研究。
