Anne Gerritsen

Anne Tjerkje Gerritsen is professor of History at University of Warwick, received her PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University  (2001). She has been professor and Kikkoman Chair in Asia-Europe Intercultural Exchange, with special attention to material culture, art and human dynamics, of University of Leiden. She is the  fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Royal Historical Society and is the member of the Board of the Universities China Committee in London. Her publications include The City of Blue and White: China Manufactures for the Early Modern World. (Single-authored monograph, manuscript in preparation. Considered for publication by Cambridge University Press.); Ji’an Literati and the Local in Song-Yuan-Ming China (Leiden: Brill, 2007).
      Professor Gerritsen will visit the Center from April to July, 2017.
